Pamela Anderson's Makeup-Free Spree in Paris, Self Care, Canary Yellow Vibes
+ The Beverly Hills Public Library?
Pamela Anderson is earning accolades for going makeup-free during Paris Fashion Week, in a flex that prompted Jamie Lee Curtis to post, “I am so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion.”
Yes, it’s a sad state of affairs when women constantly feel this pressure while men are allowed to age. Yet, I continue to purchase skin improving devices and wear makeup for myself. Lipstick (Dior Addict Lip Glow in 06-Berry) makes me happy and I’m finally committing to trying new mascara this week and a mani pedi next week — which may very well be my first time since the pandemic!
Anderson just told People Magazine that she’ll be selling all her fashion archives.
Below, Anderson wears a Victoria Beckham dress before the designer’s Spring Summer 2024 fashion show. She tells Lisa Bilyeu what led to her decision as well as her preference for using the term “life-ing” instead of aging. I like it.
I’m also applauding Anderson.
For my fashion friends, here’s a look at Victoria Beckham’s full fashion show:
A Mellow Yellow
Seeing Anderson’s dresses reminds me that - I seem to be saving posts that lean into canary yellow. I noticed citrus shades before the fashion press confirmed it as a thing last spring. Will this become a thing? Hmmm…
Time will tell.
Self Care: Gua Sha and Unisex Products I Love
Since anti aging is in the air…
In this past post, I touched on my obsession with Gua Sha and watched the above video when I bought my first LANSHIN tool. I misplaced it and am still obsessed with trying this one next. For me, it drains some bloat from my face, adds mild definition and helps to look a little more rested.
chriswhly, below, shared his own Gua Sha process in a shorter video.
I also own these 3 tools and highly recommend them to activate deeper collagen layers: Lightstim + this NuFace mini starter kit with two tools.
I use them before zoom calls or big meetings because I have a hard time sleeping the night before pivotal events. PS We need to prioritize sleep.
All Good Things
After a close friend recommended a book, I decided to go get a hard copy in real time vs kindle or Amazon. In doing so, I rediscovered the Beverly Hills Public Library - and that it’s open until 9pm! I found the arts and media sections upstairs and lost my mind. If you’re in LA, earmark some time to peruse this place, especially since the parking is hassle free.
I’m thrilled for the weekend and will be taking my Leica out for fun and it takes really crispy shots compared to an iphone. I know that’s obvious, but haven’t let myself take it out for a spin lately. Trivia: this camera’s color setting is called “happy” and here’s an unedited quality sample:
My Canon 7D batteries are charging as we speak and I’m really looking forward to ‘seeing the world’ horizontally again. My first shoot will be… airplanes.
Have a fun weekend. Don’t be like him [sound on]:
