I caught TAYLOR SWIFT arriving at her LA ERAS TOUR Movie Premiere!

I didn't even know she was going to be there.

I accidentally spotted Taylor Swift in the video above, stepping out of her SUV and slipping through a back door before her movie premiere: Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour!

You’ll have to squint to see it — but I got it!

It wasn’t planned and I just happened to be there at the right time, but only had my iphone. The irony is - I had been hunting for my Canon 7D camera all morning, but had hidden it before I left town on a trip. I found such a good hiding place that I am still looking for it. But ya gotta work with what you have, right?

More behind-the-scenes details are below, and here’s a better full shot of her Oscar de la Renta dress.

(Oh look, Beyoncé showed up later, too!)

Deadline claims that ticket sales are outpacing Barbie. Here’s the trailer.

Here’s how it went down:

An instagram [posted below] had warned of police presence on opening night — so I just wanted to run to that outdoor mall [The Grove] to get a clean daylight shot of the movie marquee before the premiere mania. As I got closer, I could hear the helicopters. A modest crowd stood at the barricades, while news crews circled for stories.

CBS affiliate KCAL scored the most interviews while I was there.

I heard the woman above telling KCAL that she was there by chance, and just happened to be wearing this sweatshirt. BTW: It took 35 shots just to land this shot with Swift’s face visible in that main graphic. (Asking people to make unnatural changes to get a desired shot has always yielded stiff results.)

Happy Accident -- I saw security hustling to lift a guard gate and back a car in, so I figured there was a remote chance it was some kind of executive and only a dozen of us non news people migrated down to investigate.

We were so shocked to see it was actually Taylor Swift that you’ll notice a pregnant pause before everyone started yelling her name.

I got a sliver of a shot, but it’s something. If I had known she’d be there, I never would’ve bothered to show up to a mob scene. And how was your Wednesday?

Here are some fun story links:

There weren’t as many Swifties as one would expect and everyone was chill.

Naturally, I was worried about the employees as The Grove’s shops were forced to close yesterday, but reports claim that owner Rick Caruso (a billionaire who ran for mayor here) will be compensating shops for lost revenue. I’ll be interested to see how that plays out.

Meanwhile, a couple nights ago, I got online and scored the last available ticket for a weekend screening at another theater. #winning

Cheers to this woman for breaking records as well as her economic impact.
