Barbie Just Got Tagged in LA, Plus a Fun Find on Amazon. (Spoiler Alert: It's Mine.)
I promised you more local pop culture fare — and you can’t drive a mile in LA without seeing something Barbie related. Having the streets to myself on July 4 (I love how LA clears out), I must’ve counted 10 benches and billboards on my way from Point A to Point B.
This one above just got tagged and you know I had to cross two lanes of traffic to pull over and get the shot.
Both Barbie and Ken also have bus stop benches, at the corner of Beverly Blvd and Sweetzer Ave. The better benches are Barbie pink.
The point is, everyone on that marketing team should have job security.
Amazon Prime Day falls on July 11th and 12th — and I read that hot pink was trending online, so…
I thought this would be an ideal time to plug that my own Amazon phone cases have launched online! Yes, mine. Here’s a pink one, so I can stay on topic.
Here’s my matching PopSocket.
When I said I had created 1,000 things so far this year, this is 2 of them.
However, now that threads has launched, I now want to dig up a lot of unseen New York Fashion Week videos and they’re pretty juicy. Anna? Bill Cunningham? Influencers before they broke out? Many clips are from the years that the iphone front facing camera launched, soon followed by selfie sticks. Stay tuned.
According to Forbes, Threads just passed the 100 Million subscriber mark → making it the fastest growing online platform → in history.
What’s your threads number? Mine was in the 3 millions. JerryNews is looking to interview user #69,420,420.
I’ve been very obedient on IG, playing the game, using trending music cues, intro’ing some of my own finds from a music library. Threads makes me feel like going rogue on that end, so it’ll be fun to be a little more irreverent. Maybe even a lot more irreverent, if you know me.
I want to sidebar to plug that the Barbie brand recently introduced this Anna May Wong doll during AAPI month in May! [insert fist bump emoji]
Back to Barbie, here’s the official trailer, in case you’re in the 1% who hasn’t already seen it. Real talk: I say that just having watched it now.
Now I’ll ease up on the shameless plugs and get back to work.
