Have the strikes spiked an influx of actors on Cameo?
Since I wrote the story about this CAMEO birthday video, I thought I’d see if Sarah Silverman was also offering videos. She’s not, but her sister (actress Laura Silverman) is - and asks people to book though the browser and not the app, since Apple takes 30% off that cut. I’d always heard that they took a big cut and never gave it much thought, but that explains why Spotify membership fees are now only payable online. I’ll have to do some research to be more conscientious about where my dollars land.

I’ve written that the future of entertainment looks bleak and that I don’t see this being resolved until well into 2024 — but when will Severance and all of our cult favorites be back on the air?
On a serious note, everyone in the biz is concerned about the strikes, the economic fallout, budgets reverting to yesteryear rates for unscripted producers and the shifting tides of streamers surpassing traditional television. It’s my opinion that unresolved strikes will only pass the baton to those gunning for digital domination. 2023 and 2024 will change entertainment as we’ve known it and the word agility
